EP: 17 Burnout, Balance, and Honesty: Nick Hazell's Path to Wellness

In today's podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Nick Hazell, a remarkable individual who has not only achieved great success in the mental health field but has also opened up about his struggles with burnout. Nick’s journey spans over 15 years, during which he has worked his way up from a support role to becoming a key player in business development for mental health services. Despite his professional accomplishments, Nick faced personal challenges, including the stress of raising premature twins and health setbacks, which ultimately led to a period of burnout. He candidly shared that his experience has taught him the power of vulnerability and honesty, both in his personal and professional life.

Nick emphasizes that while many people face similar struggles, societal stigma often prevents open conversations about mental health challenges. He encourages those experiencing burnout to be honest about their feelings and seek support, as sharing their struggles can foster understanding and empathy. By acknowledging his own vulnerabilities, Nick hopes to inspire others to do the same, highlighting that there is strength in being open about mental health issues. His journey serves as a reminder that success is not just about climbing the corporate ladder but also about maintaining a healthy work-life balance and being true to oneself.
